HindSight 3.0 For Diamond Mind Baseball

What Is HindSight?

HindSight is a free utility that works with the Diamond Mind Baseball computer game. You can use HindSight to scan through year’s worth of box scores searching for special events such as no hitters or 20 strike out performances!

What's New In HindSight 3.0?

  1. Hindsight now supports DMB version 9 box scores!
  2. Hot keys have been added for all the menu items and buttons.
  3. Tool tips have been added. If you leave the mouse over an item on the screen a pop-up will appear with information about that item.
  4. The dialog box that was used to browse for a box score path has been replaced with a new, more user friendly dialog.
  5. The main window is now re-sizable.
  6. HindSight is now written using 100% pure Java. As a result, the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is required.  You must download and install the JRE before HindSight will work.  After clicking on this link, scroll down the page and select “Download the JRE 5.0 Update 6” and follow the instructions on the screen.

What Does HindSight Look Like?

Installation Instructions

To install HindSight just follow these simple steps:

  1. Download and install Java (go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp, scroll down the page and click on “Download the JRE 5.0 Update 6” and then follow the instructions on the screen)
  2. Create a directory to hold HindSight3-0 (i.e. c:\HindSight3-0)
  3. Download and copy HindSight3-0.zip to this directory
  4. Unzip HindSight3-0.zip into this directory
  5. Double click on the HindSight3-0.jar and Enjoy!

You can also create a shortcut to HindSight on your desktop by following these steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the HindSight installation folder
  2. Right click on the HindSight3-0.jar file and select "Copy"
  3. Right click on your desktop and click "Paste Shortcut". This will create an icon on your desktop called "Shortcut to HindSight3-0.jar".
  4. Right click on this icon and select properties.
  5. Edit the target by adding "javaw -jar " in front of the current value. When you are done the target will look something like this:
    javaw -jar "c:\HindSight3-0\HindSight3-0.jar".
  6. Click on OK and then double click on the icon to start HindSight!

Finally, you can also run HindSight from a DOS Prompt by following these steps:

  1. Open a DOS Prompt and make the current folder your HindSight3-0 installation folder
  2. Type "javaw -jar HindSight3-0.jar"
